Privacy policy
Privacy Policy
Aveloor ("we", "us", "our") sells silk sleep accessories worldwide from aveloor.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It applies wherever you live.

Who is responsible for your information
Aveloor is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@aveloor.com, and we answer privacy requests from that address.
What we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you provide one, and the contents of any message you send us.
- Order and payment information. What you bought and the outcome of your payment. Card numbers are handled by our payment providers and never reach our servers.
- Information collected automatically. IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring site, and how you move through the site. This includes session recordings and heatmaps, described under Cookies below.
- Marketing preferences. Whether you subscribed to email or SMS, and how you interact with what we send.
How we use it
- To take, fulfil and deliver your order, and to handle returns and the 90-day trial.
- To contact you about an order, including confirmations, dispatch and tracking.
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To send marketing, only where you have opted in, and only until you opt out.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To detect and prevent fraud, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
Our legal bases (UK and EEA visitors)
- Performance of a contract: taking payment, fulfilling and delivering your order, and handling returns.
- Consent: marketing email and SMS, and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the site secure, preventing fraud, and improving how the store works. We balance this against your rights.
- Legal obligation: keeping tax and transaction records.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it with the providers below, only so far as each needs it:
- Shopify hosts the store and processes checkout, and provides us with aggregate store analytics.
- Payment providers take and verify payment: Shopify Payments, PayPal, Afterpay, Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Our fulfilment partner receives your name and delivery address so your order can be made and shipped.
- Klaviyo sends our email and SMS marketing and records how you interact with the site and with our messages.
- Analytics providers measure how the store is used so we can improve it.
- Judge.me collects and displays product reviews.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces on the site, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Where your information goes
Our providers operate in a number of countries, so your information may be processed outside the country you live in, including by the providers described above. Where information leaves the UK or EEA we rely on the transfer safeguards those providers have in place, which include standard contractual clauses and adequacy decisions.
How long we keep it
- Order and transaction records: kept while we need them for the order and then for as long as tax and business-record law requires, which in Australia is generally five years.
- Marketing data: kept until you unsubscribe, and then only what is needed to honour your opt-out.
- Support messages: kept while your query is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Analytics and session recordings: kept for the retention period set by the provider, after which they are deleted or aggregated.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart and session working, to remember your preferences, to measure how the store is used, and to run marketing where you have consented.
Some of this is behavioural: we measure how visitors move through the site, and our email provider records on-site activity to tailor what we send you. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and blocking non-essential cookies will not stop you from buying.
Our site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, because there is no agreed standard for them.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or stop sending you marketing. Email hello@aveloor.com and we will respond within the time your local law allows. We will not treat you differently for exercising a right.
If you are in the UK or the EEA
You also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting what we did before you withdrew it. You can complain to your national data protection authority, or to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are in the UK.
If you are in the United States
Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising, and to appeal a refusal. We do not sell personal information for money. Some cookie-based advertising and analytics can still count as "sharing" under state law, so you can opt out through our Your Privacy Choices page.
If you are in Australia
We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. You can ask for access to, or correction of, what we hold. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a privacy issue, contact us first, and if we have not resolved it you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Security
The store runs on Shopify, which provides SSL encryption and PCI-compliant payment processing. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and to limit who can access it.
Children
The store is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top always shows the current version.
