About the product
What is momme, and why does 22 matter?
Momme is a weight measurement for silk (like thread-count for cotton, but it actually reflects quality). Higher momme means heavier, denser, longer-lasting silk. 19-momme is the industry norm. 22-momme is the top of the consumer range. Denser weave, less friction, better longevity. 22-momme is what every premium silk pillowcase brand use for their flagship lines. It's what we use for everything.
Is this real silk?
Yes. 100% 6A-grade mulberry silk, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. 6A is the highest grade of mulberry silk available on the consumer market, and OEKO-TEX certification means it's tested free of harmful chemicals. Not satin, not polyester, not a blend.
What's the difference between silk and satin?
Satin is a weave, not a material. A "satin pillowcase" is almost always polyester woven in a satin style. Cheap, not breathable, and doesn't give you the skin/hair benefits of real silk. Aveloor is 100% mulberry silk, not satin.
How long will it last?
With proper care, 3-5 years of regular use. Treat it well and you'll comfortably get there. Our 22-momme weight is specifically chosen because it resists wear better than lighter silks.
Sizing and fit
Which pillowcase size do I need?
- Standard (51 × 66 cm / 20 × 26 in). Fits standard Australian, UK and US pillows
- Queen (51 × 76 cm / 20 × 30 in). Most common hotel-style pillow
- King (51 × 91 cm / 20 × 36 in). For larger king pillows
When in doubt, go up a size. A slightly oversized case is better than one that doesn't close.

Will my pillow fit inside?
Yes. Our cases have a slight overlap design (envelope closure) rather than a zipper, so they're forgiving on fit and don't scratch your face.
Do you have bolster or travel sizes?
Not yet. If there's demand, we'll add them. Email hello@aveloor.com if you'd use one.
Care
How do I wash silk?
Cold water (30°C max), gentle or hand-wash cycle, mesh laundry bag if you have one, pH-neutral detergent (Eucalan or any wool-wash works), no bleach, no fabric softener. Hang dry in shade. That's the whole routine.
Can I use a dryer?
We'd rather you didn't. Heat is the thing that kills silk. If you have to, low heat, maximum 10 minutes, remove while still slightly damp.
Do I need to iron it?
Usually not. Silk recovers its smooth finish on its own. If you want to, low heat, inside-out, on a slightly damp case.
How often should I wash it?
Every 7-10 days is ideal for skin and scalp health.
My silk pillowcase is getting stained by my skincare / self-tan. Help.
Self-tan, retinol, and benzoyl peroxide are all known silk killers. They can bleach or yellow the fabric. If you use any of these at night, give them 20-30 minutes to fully absorb before lying down, or pick a colour (navy, dusty rose) that hides marks better than ivory or white.

Free on orders over $140 AUD, worldwide. A flat rate applies below that. The exact figure shows at checkout.
How long does it take?
Asia-Pacific (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, South Korea): 5-10 business days from dispatch. Americas & Europe (US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Poland): 6-15 business days. Returns and trial
What's the sleep trial?
30-night sleep trial. Sleep on it, wash it, sleep on it again. If it's not the best pillowcase you've owned in that time, email hello@aveloor.com and we'll refund you. You don't need to ship it back in pristine condition. We genuinely want you to have slept on it before deciding.
What about returns on unused items?
30-day return window on anything unopened, in original packaging. Email hello@aveloor.com to start a return.
Can I exchange sizes or colours?
Yes. Same 30-day window, same email address. We'll cover return shipping on exchanges if we sent the wrong item; otherwise a flat return-shipping fee applies.
Orders and payments
What payment methods do you accept?
All major cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and PayPal. Buy-now-pay-later through Afterpay and Zip is being added. If it's not live when you check out, email us and we'll let you know when it is.
Can I change or cancel an order?
Within 2 hours of placing it, yes. Email hello@aveloor.com with your order number. After that it's usually already with our fulfilment partner and we can't pull it back.
The item I want is out of stock. When will you restock?
Usually 2-3 weeks. Sign up for the back-in-stock alert on the product page and you'll be the first to know.
Do you do wholesale or gift-with-purchase promotions?
